MILITARY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Dominion Energy's Military Fellowship Program is a Department of Defense SkillBridge approved program. Fellowship opportunities are aligned with our long-term workforce needs and provide transitioning servicemembers with meaningful, hands-on experience that may lead to full-time employment upon separation from the military. Fellowship durations may vary and can extend up to 180 days, based on mutual agreement between the selected servicemember and their military command.
Servicemember Requirements
To enroll in a corporate internship while still on active duty, the servicemember must be able to meet eligibility compliance and receive command approval. Once an internship offer has been extended, the servicemember may proceed in routing a completed program application for command awareness and approval. The internship cannot commence until you are 180 days or less from your separation date (i.e., EAOS, EAS).
Job Summary
DOMINION ENERGY'S ELECTRIC BUSINESS OVERVIEW
Responsible for the oversite and management of all electric power systems, infrastructure, planning and operational requirements for the organization, including the transmission and distribution for commercial and residential customers. Constructs and maintains transmission and distribution facilities, lines, equipment and structures in accordance with state and local regulations. Ensures adequate supply to meet demand needs based on forecasting and planning models. Ensures equipment performs reliably and at an optimum level through effective implementation of corrective, preventive and predictive programs and procedures.
Electric Transmission System Protection Technician
Opportunities in our Electric Transmission organization may be located across the company's footprint based on where there may be full-time workforce needs. Military servicemembers with the appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined in the "Education Section" below are strongly encouraged to apply. These are non-union positions.
In this role within our System Protection Development Program, you'll participate in the installation, maintenance, and corrective actions associated with protective relaying schemes, communication systems, SCADA components, and other Operational Technology (OT) systems used in Dominion Energy's field facilities. This role is designed to build your foundational knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for performing System Protection tasks. As you progress, you'll expand upon these skills by taking on more complex responsibilities, allowing you to perform tasks with greater independence and proficiency. You'll work alongside senior team members to gain hands-on experience during construction projects and maintenance activities, and you'll be expected to interpret engineering design packages and execute tasks effectively. This position offers a structured environment to increase your technical competence and scope, providing a solid foundation for your career growth within Dominion Energy.
