LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF MILITARY, , DAVIDSON COUNTY.

This position is located at the Nashville Army National Guard base.

This position has the potential to work up to 40% remotely from home.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to five or more years of increasingly responsible or skilled full-time mechanical or electrical work.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional qualifying coursework from an accredited college, university, technical institute or vocational school in electrical technology, mechanical technology, engineering or other related acceptable field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, for a maximum of two years.

Necessary Special Qualifications:

  1. Must possess a DOD Security Clearance within one year of being hired.

  2. Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Overview

Under general supervision manages various building monitoring systems in support of energy management program and performs related work as required. Under general supervision creates purchase order request and submits request for approval signatures. This position monitors HVAC and Lighting Systems to reduce energy cost and usage for TNARNG facilities. This is Specialist level in the Energy Series. An employee in this class monitors HVAC and lighting controls for TNARNG facilities. This class differs from that of Energy Manager in that an incumbent of the latter acts as a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  1. Manages on daily basis Schneider Building Management System I/NET and EcoStruxure platforms HVAC Controls Systems Statewide for monitoring facilities heating and cooling system status. Manages on a weekly basis Lighting Control Systems at various facilities using Autani platform at Nashville Joint Forces Headquarters Mott Building and Nashville Building 100 Second Floor. Keeps HVAC, lighting control platforms and solar monitoring systems up to date and reports any abnormal readings to supervisor.

  2. Monitors Solar Photovoltaic (PV) generated production at Nashville JFHQ parking canopies, VTS Smyrna parking canopies at Buildings 200, 250 and 500, five Readiness Centers and Mount Carmel AFRC and FMS using inverter vendor monitoring platform on a weekly basis. Monitors solar powered outdoor pole lighting via cellular uplink for battery status and operational efficiency a Readiness Centers, Field Maintenance Shop, and Volunteer Training Sites. Report all abnormal readings to supervisor. Creates quarterly solar PV energy generated production reports and submitted to supervisor for AEWRS reporting.

  3. Performs Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) on projects as assigned by supervisor to evaluate energy cost over the useful life of a Project/Facility.

4 Provides completed Purchase Order P-5 request form for approval signatures to repair HVAC control systems, and to pay utility cost at Fort Campbell facilities and Millington Readiness Center.

  1. Writes scopes of work, material specifications and provides documents for energy projects or energy related repairs within 10 working days after project scope is determined by Construction Facilities Management Office (CFMO) staff and provides scope of work and material specifications to CFMO, external contractors, vendors, end users and co-workers for energy related projects.

  2. Provides drawings, utility bills or other documents for energy audits or energy related projects at the request of the Energy Manager or CFMO staff.

  3. Coordinates repairs of equipment, software firmware updates, security updates and patches with contractor to wireless cellular monitoring system of HVAC Controls and Lighting Controls.
