District Primary Purpose: To assist and promote La Joya ISD in implementing a rigorous curriculum/instructional program that supports student success and achievement.
Department Primary Purpose: Identify and recruit migrant students to the district. Act as a liaison between the school, home, and migrant community. Provide an avenue of communication and support which affect a migrant students' progress in school. Prepare and maintain files of all records required for the Migrant Department and state mandated reports related to migrant students in a professional manner in order to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) certificate.
Valid Texas Drivers License and Automotive Insurance
Experience: Must have some experience working with the community and/or in migrant education
Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively (English and Spanish) with school, parents of migrant students.
Demonstrate aptitude for the successful performance of the tasks assigned.
Ability to travel throughout the district.
Considerable knowledge of departmental rules, regulations, procedures and functions.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Conversant with district, state and federal policies and procedures.
