Structural Steel Welder

Job Summary

McGill AirClean and McGill AirPressure are subsidiaries of United McGill, with approximately 50 years of experience providing industrial air pollution control solutions and pressure-processing equipment. The Structural Steel Welder will work in a structural steel shop, welding and cutting metal components used to manufacture large, custom-engineered systems.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on various types of metals.

• Operate welding and metal-cutting equipment.

• Cut and burn metal materials ranging from sheet metal to 1-inch-thick steel plate.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

• Select and use the appropriate welding electrodes for each job.

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Previous MIG/TIG welding experience required.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.

• Familiarity with welding electrodes and their applications.

• Ability to read, write, and understand English.

• Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 75 pounds.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Vocational or shop-class training preferred.

• Must provide personal welding gear.

Work Schedule

• Days: Monday–Friday

• Hours: 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

• Overtime: Required as needed
