    Job Description

    We are a busy and well-established outpatient Internal Medicine practice seeking a motivated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable managing a wide variety of adult primary care conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for adult patients
    • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
    • Conduct annual wellness visits, preventive care visits, and routine follow-ups
    • Manage conditions including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma/COPD, thyroid disorders, obesity, anxiety/depression, and other common outpatient Internal Medicine conditions
    • Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging studies, and diagnostic procedures
    • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
    • Provide patient education regarding medications, lifestyle modifications, preventive care, and disease management
    • Perform transitional care management (TCM) and hospital follow-up visits
    • Evaluate urgent/same-day walk-in complaints
    • Complete medical documentation accurately and timely within the EMR
    • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, home health agencies, and ancillary services
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, preventive health programs, and value-based care measures
    • Address patient messages, refill requests, and lab result reviews
    • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical protocols

    Qualifications

    • Active Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
    • Board Certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology NP
    • DEA license required
    • Experience in Internal Medicine, Primary Care, Family Medicine, or Urgent Care preferred
    • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
    • Experience with EMR systems preferred (eClinicalWorks experience is a plus)
    • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and front office staff to ensure excellent patient care

    Schedule

    • Monday through Friday
    • Part-Time/Full-time outpatient position
    • No hospital rounds
    • No inpatient call
