Summary:
Drives IT engineering solutions, framework, roadmap, program optimization and process engineering in a high-velocity culture by introducing technology, requirements, deliverables, gaps and systems design.
Analyzes competitive strategies, infrastructure technologies, metrics models, and performance indicators. Contributes to robust and innovative strategic solutions and builds resilient support for next-generation systems to solve business challenges.
Primary Accountabilities
Develop, enhance and maintain tools, systems and software solutions
Develop, integrate, and test systems, solutions, or products.
Performs incident triage, including determining scope, urgency, and potential impact. Makes recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
Conducts technology evaluations and re-engineering activities to support strategy definition and continuous improvement activities.
Build strong relationships with Peers across functions through collaborative engineering operations and initiatives.
Design and implement automated solutions to enable development needs
Designs and develops system/solution measures to ensure solutions are fully integrated. Validates current and future-state architectural models to assess impact across all technology systems.
Leads, analyzes and responds to the changing system/solution of the company and our clients with agility and flexibility.
Analyzes gaps and recommends mitigating and compensating controls. Leads and participates in outage/SWAT meetings to mitigate system/solution issues.
Implements service catalog automation working with key partners within Enterprise technology and security teams
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
Solid knowledge and understanding of DevOps.
Solid knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering and Computer Science.
Solid knowledge and understanding of SDLC (e.g. development, configuration, deployment, testing, configuration, deployment, monitoring etc.).
Solid knowledge and understanding of infrastructure technologies and application technologies.
Solid knowledge and understanding of System Administration (configurations, installations, patch management, server maintenance, etc.) and Network Management (firewalls, proxies, IP management, routing, DNS).
Demonstrated experience establishing, using and supporting integration and communication protocols between applications, databases, and technology platforms.
Demonstrated experience with administration of J2EE, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache platforms.
Demonstrated experience with OpenShift.
Additional Job Information:
Position will be a member of the Middleware Services Group within Enterprise Technology Services with an initial focus on either private cloud service delivery supporting the consolidation of four operating companies on-premise infrastructure services with an emphasis on leveraging infrastructure as code to engineer Middleware solutions.
In addition to the competencies outlined in the job description, the ideal candidate will have experience with at least a subset of the following:
automation of infrastructure delivery with configuration orchestration and management solutions such as AAP.
understanding of coding practices and developing in a preferred scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, Python, UNIX Shell Scripting)
experience with Operating System hardening practices as well as methodologies for templating deployments from a set of standardized images
experience with Linux and Windows systems engineering principles
experience with administration of application servers like (e.g. JBoss EAP, Tomcat) and middleware solutions (e.g. MSMQ, IBM MQ, Kafka)
experience with OpenShift container and virtualization platform.
experience with IIS and .Net coding
experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
experience with usage of DevOps tools such as gitlab.
