Description

Position: Middle School Wrestling Coach

Season: Winter 2026-27 (February 9, 2027 - March 20, 2027)

Location: Bessie Allen Middle School / School District of North Fond du Lac

The School District of North Fond du Lac is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual for the position of Middle School Wrestling Coach. This position will begin on February 2027, and conclude on March 2027. Practices are typically held after school, with meets scheduled on select evenings and weekends

Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise a middle school wrestling program.

  • Previous wrestling or coaching experience preferred, with a strong understanding of wrestling fundamentals, safety, and skill progression for younger athletes.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with middle school students while modeling positive character, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

  • Commitment to building foundational skills that connect to the high school wrestling program and promote a positive athletic experience.

Special Considerations

  • Variable schedule to accommodate practices, dual meets, and tournaments.

  • Supervision of athletes before and after practices/meets is required.

Position Summary

To lead and develop the middle school wrestling program in alignment with the philosophy of education-based athletics. The coach will focus on introducing wrestling skills, promoting discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence, while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all student-athletes.

Essential Duties

  • Knows and implements all District and School Athletic Policies and procedures for a middle school sports program.

  • Knows, interprets, and applies WIAA and conference-level wrestling regulations.

  • Plans and conducts daily practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and sportsmanship.

  • Provides clear instruction, feedback, and encouragement for wrestlers of all ability levels.

  • Promotes safety and proper technique to reduce the risk of injury.

  • Communicates with parents and athletes regarding expectations, schedules, and program goals.

  • Maintains and accounts for equipment and uniforms.

  • Collaborates with the high school wrestling program to ensure alignment and smooth athlete transition.

  • Encourages academic success and positive behavior in all participants.

  • Attends meetings and completes required training as directed by the Activities Director.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or administration.
