Subject Area/Teaching Field Endorsement/Requirements • Bachelors degree from accredited university . • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned . • Must have a Secondary Montessori Teaching certificate . We are open to candidates who do not have Montessori certification but are familiar with Montessori methodology and philosophy and are willing to start training the summer of 2023. • At least three year s of teaching experience, preferably in Montessori education . • Knowledge of and buy in to Montessori theory and practice . • Generalist Educator comfortable with all subjects including social -emotional. • An innovative problem solver . • Enjoys teaching middle sch ool-aged children . • An effective communicator with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and others both verbally and in writing. • Collaborative in nature/a team player . • Confident . • Flexible . • A sense of humor . • Excellent planning and organizational skills . • Willing to work alongside an assistant secondary/co -teacher . • Maintain proximity to students while outside. "The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." - Dr. Montessori Description School Year 2023 -2024 Middle School Teacher - Multi -aged group setting (Grades 7 -8) with a total of 30-34 students. The teacher will be re sponsible for co -teaching with another teacher, alternating days with student groups. Small group lessons in 7th & 8th grade Math, Pre -Algebra, Algebr a, Science , History, and ELA following the TEKS. The ideal teacher will feel comfortable working and building relationships with adolescent students in a flexible learning environment . They will be willing to spend time outdoors with students for academic and play/team building purposes.
