Marion School District is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Middle School Teacher to join our innovative team for the upcoming 2026-27 school year in our newly created middle school model. We're looking for a passionate educator ready to make a significant impact in a brand-new, state-of-the-art learning environment, including a cutting-edge science lab and modern classroom.
This unique role will focus primarily on Science (approx 75%) for grades 5-8, complemented with Social Studies (approx 25%) instruction. We are committed to fostering a love for learning through hands-on exploration and a supportive classroom culture.
We are searching for a teacher who:
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Harnesses Exploration: Designs and implements engaging activities that encourage students to investigate, question, and discover.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Utilizes Small Group Instruction: Effectively differentiates learning and provides targeted support through flexible small group models.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Brings a Positive Attitude: Creates an optimistic, encouraging, and joyful learning atmosphere for all students.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Fosters Collaboration: Work closely with middle school teammates (ELA, Math, Science & Social Studies (teaching partner), STEAM, Library/Literacy, & Pupil Service) to ensure interdisciplinary connection and consistency for our students.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Supports the Whole Child: Implements teaching techniques and provides social-emotional support that addresses the diverse needs of middle school learners.
Qualifications:
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Valid teaching certification in relevant subject areas for middle school grades.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Proven experience working with middle school-aged students (grades 5-8).
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Demonstrated ability to create an engaging, student-centered classroom.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Strong understanding of middle school curriculum and developmental needs.
p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
