Job Title: Dyslexia Teacher

Primary purpose
Provide evidenced based dyslexia instruction services to assess students, provide intervention, monitor student progress with appropriate intervention instruction, learning activities, and experiences in the areas of dyslexia and reading to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Participate and provide documentation for Special Education meetings and 504 meetings as well as input student data. Work with general education and special education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations for students.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelor's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
Special knowledge/skills
Knowledge of Dyslexia
Knowledge of reading instructional strategies
Knowledge of intervention instructional strategies and best practices
Knowledge of the science of reading
Ability to analyze data and provide targeted intervention support to at-risk students
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Reading by Design certification
Evaluation experience
Strong organizational, communication, technical and interpersonal skills
