Choral Assistant

Trinity Valley School | Fort Worth, Texas

Part-time (25 hours/week) | Starting August 2026

About This Opportunity

From middle school students just finding their voices to upper school students developing greater depth and complexity in their performances - our choral program is growing, and it's offering more students new and exciting ways to discover the power of music. This is an opportunity for a motivated, organized musician to grow alongside a program where every student is seen, challenged, and supported.

We're looking for someone who keeps that big picture purpose front-of-mind during the day-to-day work of running sectionals, playing accompaniment, coordinating logistics, and more.

Your Impact

You'll be essential to the daily rhythm of our choral program, working with students from 8th grade through high school. In rehearsals, you'll accompany on piano, lead sectionals, and help students prepare for honor choir auditions and performances. When the Choir Director works with one section, you'll be guiding another-building relationships and musical skills simultaneously.

Behind the scenes, you'll be the organizational backbone: managing sheet music orders, coordinating with the business office on check requests, tracking data for honor choirs, creating and uploading recordings to Opus, and helping write grant requests. You'll serve as the liaison between the choral program and key staff members, keeping communication flowing and deadlines met. You'll help coordinate those special moments-national anthems at games, pep rally performances-that make school spirit come alive.

This role offers flexibility in your schedule and genuine mentorship. You'll have the freedom to get involved in musical theater productions if that interests you. More importantly, you'll have a front-row seat to program development and the opportunity to shape and support what comes next. The long-term vision includes separate middle school girls and boys choirs, a middle school musical theater class, and an expanded high school program with multiple ensembles including a rock band class.

What You'll Bring

You have a degree in music (music education is wonderful, but performance or other music degrees work too). Your piano skills are strong-ideally you can play multiple parts simultaneously and accompany choirs with confidence, though we're more interested in your potential and willingness to grow than perfection on day one.

You're organized in ways that complement creative work. You can handle administrative details, meet deadlines, and keep multiple balls in the air without losing track. You're comfortable with technology and can learn platforms like Opus and Canvas. You can record, edit, and upload audio with care and efficiency.

Most importantly, you genuinely see students-not just as singers, but as whole people. You want to help them improve musically and personally. You value accountability: holding students to high standards, keeping yourself on track, and helping your colleagues stay focused and organized. You're a collaborator who understands that great programs are built through partnership.

You're drawn to Trinity Valley School's commitment to fine scholarship, wide constructive interests, intelligent citizenship, and spiritual and moral development. You see music education as a vehicle for all of these, and you're excited to work in a community where students are known, valued, and encouraged to pursue boundless possibilities.
