Prepare Students for Success in a Digital World
We are seeking an innovative, engaging, and student-focused Middle School Business Technology Teacher to equip students with the digital, financial, and professional skills they need for future academic and career success. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, business education, and helping middle school students become confident, responsible, and creative digital citizens.
The Business Technology Teacher will create hands-on, project-based learning experiences that build students' skills in computer applications, keyboarding, digital literacy, business fundamentals, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging middle school Business Technology courses using hands-on, project-based instruction.
- Develop and deliver lessons in areas such as:
- Keyboarding and computer fundamentals
- Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
- Digital literacy and online research
- Digital citizenship and internet safety
- Business communication and professionalism
- Financial literacy and personal finance
- Entrepreneurship and career exploration
- Coding, productivity tools, and emerging technologies (as appropriate)
- Integrate technology into instruction to promote creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
- Foster problem-solving and real-world application of technology and business concepts.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and technology-rich classroom environment.
- Collaborate with faculty to support schoolwide technology integration.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Education, Technology Education, Computer Science, Education, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification appropriate for middle school grades (or eligibility to obtain certification).
- Strong knowledge of business and educational technology applications.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for preparing students for future academic and career success.
Preferred
- Experience teaching middle school Business Technology, Computer Applications, STEM, or Career and Technical Education (CTE).
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva, coding platforms, and educational technology tools.
- Knowledge of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness standards.
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), Google Certified Educator, IC3 Digital Literacy, or similar credentials.
- Experience using learning management systems and classroom technology.
