Grade OVERVIEW: The Middle School Coach is responsible for introducing student-athletes to the fundamentals

of

the

sport

while

fostering

skill

development,

teamwork,

and

sportsmanship.

The

coach

provides

a

safe,

structured,

and

positive

environment

that

supports

student

growth

both

athletically

and

academically. SCHEDULE: Sport Season

• practices

and

games

are

held

after

school REPORTS TO: Athletic Director/High School Principal/Head Coach LOCATION: Varies - State Road Campus, Local Parks, Opposing Schools RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.

Promotes

a

positive

image

of

AGCS

and

builds

collaborative

relationships

with

families,

community

members,

and

organizations

to

support

and

enhance

the

athletic

program.

2.

Teach

fundamental

skills,

rules,

and

strategies

of

the

sport.

3.

Plan

and

conduct

age-appropriate

practices

and

competitions.

4.

Promote

participation,

teamwork,

and

positive

sportsmanship.

5.

Supervise

student-athletes

during

practices,

games,

and

travel.

6.

Ensure

the

safety

and

well-being

of

all

participants.

7.

Communicate

effectively

with

school

staff,

parents,

and

student-athletes.

8.

Encourage

academic

responsibility

and

positive

behavior.

9.

Maintain

and

distribute

team

equipment

and

uniforms.

10.

Follow

school

district,

league,

and

athletic

department

policies.

11.

Represent

the

school

and

athletic

program

in

a

positive

and

professional

manner.

12.

Assist

with

off-season

training

and

program

development.

13.

Publicizes

team

and

individual

accomplishments.

14.

Transports

student-athletes

to

events

using

the

AGCS

van.

15.

Performs

additional

tasks

and

responsibilities

as

assigned

by

the

Athletic

Director. REQUIREMENTS: 1.

Knowledge

of

the

rules,

fundamentals,

and

strategies

of

the

assigned

sport.

2.

Prior

playing

or

coaching

experience,

preferred.

3.

Ability

to

instruct,

motivate,

and

supervise

student-athletes.

4.

Strong

communication,

leadership,

and

organizational

skills.

5.

CPR/First

Aid

certification,

preferred.

6.

Completion

of

required

background

checks

and

district/state

coaching

requirements.

7.

Ability

to

work

evenings,

weekends,

and

travel

during

the

season.

8.

Must

follow

school

district,

league,

and

athletic

department

policies

and

promote

good

sportsmanship.

MANDATORY

TRAINING:

Prior

to

the

start

of

the

season,

the

coach

must

complete

four

required

SafeSchools/Vector

Solutions

online

training

courses.

Upon

completion,

certificates

must

be

uploaded

to

Comply.

Completed Years in Position Per Season 0-3 $2,200 4-6 $2,500 7-9 $2,800 10+ $3,100

and the Athletic Director will provide additional information upon hiring.

Required Courses:

Concussion Awareness: Athletics - 15 minutes

Conflict Management: Managing the Angry Parent - 23 minutes

First Aid - 34 minutes

Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Athletes - 15 minutes An employee is not eligible for a supplemental stipend if they are currently on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), under Corrective

Action,

or

in

their

Induction

Period

(first

90

days).

If

an

employee

is

placed

on

a

PIP

or

under

Corrective

Action

during

the

supplemental

period,

they

will

be

relieved

of

their

supplemental

duties,

and

the

payment

will

be

prorated

accordingly.
