Job Summary:
Middle office employees perform functions that support the operations of the front office in areas such as risk management, financial control, strategic management, and information technology. The department ensures that deals transacted by the front office are accurately recorded and processed and that all compliance documentation is completed.

Middle Office Analysts help mitigate market and financial risk exposure through trade interpretation and analysis while ensuring regulatory and financial compliance and supporting general ledger activity. The role also provides the front office with market data related to various securities and financial markets to support risk managers in maintaining adherence to risk management policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform market position balancing including joint venture and global positions, options, specialty contracts, and pricing types.
- Perform hedge adjustment reporting, trade execution for hedge and book transfers, and trader position setup and support.
- Ensure trade compliance and regulatory rule administration. Monitor open contract reports to ensure data and deal accuracy.
- Monitor internal and inter-company dealing to identify or escalate potential fraudulent or unusual trading activity.
- Work with the regulatory compliance team and market risk groups to provide accurate and appropriate trade information in a timely manner.
- Provide Financial/Accounting support including analysis and compilation of Mark to Market calculations and estimates and validation of trader bid sheet formation.
- Calculate financial profit and loss contract mark to market. Work with global contacts related to market position reporting and P&L.
- Assist in quarterly and monthly financial reporting and disclosures.
- Assist in the development and documentation of risk metrics, risk reporting, and risk control processes and procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in Compliance and/or Internal Audit
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Previous experience in Grain Accounting and/or Marketing
Required Skills:
- Compliance and Internal Audit experience
- Financial and accounting analysis including Mark to Market calculations
- Trade interpretation and market position analysis
Preferred Skills:
- Grain accounting or agricultural marketing knowledge
- Risk reporting and risk metric development
- Regulatory compliance monitoring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Hedge adjustment reporting and trade execution support
