Huntington Learning Center is looking for talented educators and subject-matter experts who enjoy helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and reach their goals. After paid training in our proven methods, you’ll spend your time teaching and making a meaningful difference in students’ lives.
The Opportunity:
- Teach students in grades 5–12 in a 1-to-1 setting or across up to 4 students.
- Provide individualized instruction in classroom skills, subject tutoring, and test preparation.
- Work with students in Math, Reading, Writing, English, and/or Science.
- Use our provided curriculum—no lesson plans to create.
- Participate in paid training and ongoing professional development.
- Work in a collaborative, fun, and rewarding environment.
Teaching Hours: Flexible part-time schedule between the below hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00–8:30 PM.
- Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more of the following: Reading, Writing, English, Math, or Science.
- Teaching/tutoring experience with grades 5–12 preferred.
- Teaching certification and SAT/ACT experience are a plus, but not required.

About Company
The Huntington Learning Center in La Grange Park is proud to serve the communities of La Grange, La Grange Park, Western Springs, Brookfield, Riverside, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Lyons, Bellwood, Westchester and parts of Chicago. We have a team of capable, caring professionals that work with students from Kindergarten through high school.
We have an excellent reputation as is evident by the fact that over half of the families that we serve come to us through a friend or family recommendation. We strive to provide each student with the best education possible.
We are proud to provide skill work to students in reading, writing, math, phonics and study skills. We are also home to the premier ACT/SAT program in the area. Our ACT preparation has seen our students average a 4.5 point increase on the exam. 4.5 points! We also provide subject specific tutoring in math and science.
All tutoring is done by certified teachers.
We are proud to be active members of our communities as we are involved with both the La Grange Park Chamber and and West Suburban Chamber of Commerce. We reserve our greatest pride for the hundreds of students that we have helped in the 20 plus years that we have been open.
At the 2018 National Convention, Huntington honored outstanding centers with awards for center growth, student enrollment, customer service and other achievements. Garry Fairfield of the La Grange, IL center was awarded the Commitment to Student Success Award and Executive Chairman’s Club Award for superior customer service.
