Neighborhood walks, wagging dogs, and a paycheck that lands before school pickup. Every weekday!
This is you if:
- You would rather be outside than at a desk
- A dog losing his mind with joy when you walk in is your idea of a good morning
- You want steady hours during school hours, not nights and not guesswork
The Work
Dog Walking is the heart of it. You will also handle yard let-outs and potty breaks, and in-home visits for Pet Sitting (cats included).
- Walk neighborhood dogs on recurring routes
- Coach dogs into great leash manners
- Cover let-outs, potty breaks, and vacation drop-ins
- Care for cats at home, including feeding, litter, play, and medications
- Send photo updates and visit reports that make clients' whole day
- Drive between visits across our service area
- Keep learning: we pay for your continuing education in dog behavior
Schedule
- 10 to 25 hrs/week, you pick the number. We just need it consistent.
- Year-round only. No summer-only hires.
- Primary need: Tues/Wed/Thurs, 9 AM to 1 PM or 10 AM to 2 PM
- Mon to Fri 5 days a week is also heavily considered. Evenings, weekends, and overnights optional.
- Days move around sometimes. Cancellations, a last minute walk, a route in the next town over. We need people who can roll with that inside their shift.
Pay and Benefits
- $16.94/hr paid training
- $17 to $23/hr walking pay. New hires start at the low end, no exceptions. Raises come with tenure and performance within our company.
- Tips, mileage reimbursement, PTO, holiday pay, end-of-year bonuses
- Paid Pet CPR certification plus an education stipend (dog training, Pet CPR Instructor)
- Costco membership, employee discounts, referral program
- Real W-2 employment with workers' comp and liability insurance
- Advancement into leadership roles, including hiking routes for walkers who want them
Service Area
(must live in or very near, no exceptions)
Essex, Old Saybrook, Old Lyme, Lyme, Westbrook, Clinton, Madison, Deep River, Chester, East Lyme & Niantic.
Mileage adds up fast in this work. A 40 minute drive to your first dog wears out your car and eats your earnings, so we hire close to our routes.
