Mid/Senior Electronic Engineer (IoT / Smart Devices)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer to lead the design and development of connected hardware products from concept through production. This individual will play a key role in driving hardware architecture, electronic design, product validation, and manufacturing readiness while collaborating with cross-functional teams across product management, quality, firmware, and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate brings experience developing IoT-enabled products, wireless communication systems, or smart technology solutions and enjoys working in a fast-paced product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead electronic hardware design efforts from concept, feasibility analysis, and prototyping through production release.
• Define hardware architecture and drive design decisions to meet performance, cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
• Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware specifications for new product development initiatives.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define requirements, estimate project costs, and evaluate technical feasibility.
• Create project plans, schedules, and technical documentation to support successful product delivery.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause investigations to ensure product quality and reliability.
• Ensure designs comply with regional and global regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers, OEMs, and ODM partners throughout the product lifecycle.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in IoT, wireless communications, access control, security systems, and smart building technologies.

Qualifications

Mid-Level

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4-7 years of experience developing electronic hardware products.
• Experience designing and debugging analog and digital circuits.
• Experience with PCB design and schematic capture using Altium Designer or similar tools.
• Experience with DFM and product development through manufacturing.
• Knowledge of wireless technologies such as Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, or other IoT communication protocols.
• Proficiency using electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and manufacturing partners.

Senior-Level

• 7+ years of experience developing electronic products, preferably within IoT, access control, security systems, smart devices, or building automation.
• Proven experience leading hardware development efforts from concept through production.
• Deep expertise in wireless design, antenna integration, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and IoT communication technologies.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, product certification, and hardware validation processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and drive engineering best practices.
• Experience managing technical risk, product cost optimization, and manufacturing readiness activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing connected or IoT-enabled products.
• Experience with battery-powered and low-power embedded devices.
• Knowledge of access control, security, smart building, or automation technologies.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware/firmware integration.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
