Job Summary

Job Description
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for engineering and laboratory systems.
- Develop applications using C#, MATLAB, Python, C++, or related technologies.
- Integrate software with instrumentation, sensors, cameras, robotics, and motion control platforms.
- Develop software interfaces between automation systems, databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
- Support machine vision and image-processing software applications.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technicians to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshoot software and system integration issues.
- Develop technical documentation, software specifications, and user guides.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, cybersecurity, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering, seed production, product supply, contractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience developing software for automation, industrial, scientific, or engineering systems.
- Strong programming skills in C#, MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar object-oriented languages.
- Experience integrating software with hardware systems, instrumentation, sensors, machine vision, robotics, or industrial control platforms.
- Knowledge of industrial automation architectures, control systems, and communication protocols.
- Experience with source control and software testing.
- Knowledge of modern software engineering practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with scientists, engineers, technicians, and external partners.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass drug screenings and criminal background checks
- Ability to work full-time on-site at research facilities in St. Louis, Missouri.
- Initial 6-month assignment with possibility of extension.
Pay Rate/Salary
- Estimated Salary: $52.71 to $67.86 per hour. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors.
