Supporting the Team Leader and Manager in the procurement and delivery of Compliance, and Capital Works Contracts.
Our Service
North Yorkshire Councils Housing Standards team are responsible for ensuring the Council's social housing portfolio of circa 8,500 dwellings is maintained to meet all current statutory, regulatory, and legislative and good practice standards.
The team will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a wide range of contractor-led programmes and projects across North Yorkshire. This will include, but is not limited to, disabled adaptations such as level access showers, ramps and stairlifts, retrofit and decarbonisation works to improve the energy efficiency of homes, including insulation upgrades and the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs).
The role will also support the delivery of capital investment works through the Decent Homes Programme, ensuring homes continue to meet required standards, and will oversee compliance-related activities across the 'Big Six' compliance areas, including gas safety, electrical safety, fire safety, asbestos management, water hygiene, and lift safety. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
The Role
The Housing Standards Team is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Contract Supervisors to join the Compliance and Capital Contracts Team, based in at one of the council localities. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the procurement, delivery, and contract management of a diverse portfolio of housing contracts across North Yorkshire. Working closely with contractors, customers, and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure that compliance, capital investment, adaptation, and retrofit programmes are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to tenants by supporting the delivery of essential services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and improving the quality, safety, and energy efficiency of our homes.
