Summary
Pro Resources is seeking a Mid Shift Custodian. The candidate would performs, under direct supervision, the housekeeping and maintenance functions in an assigned facility, ensuring a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment for students and employees to learn and work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Including but not limited to:
Responsible for assigned building area for custodial duties
Responsible for maintaining and performing custodial duties to District’s Standards
Responsible for maintaining and properly using District cleaning equipment – walk-behind floor scrubbers, riding floor scrubbers, I-mops, vacuums, carpet extractors, etc.
Responsible for understanding, mixing, and proper use of cleaning chemicals used
Responsible for disinfecting, mopping, and scrubbing floors in the assigned custodial cleaning area, per District Standards
Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting classrooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, stairways, locker rooms, and other areas within the assigned custodial cleaning area, per District Standards
Responsible for cleaning and sweeping carpets where appropriate within the assigned custodial cleaning area, per District Standards
Responsible for dusting furniture, windowsills, window frames, high surfaces, ledges, equipment, and any surface within the assigned custodial cleaning area, per District Standards
Responsible for washing windows (both exterior and interior), door panels, mirrors, and sills within the assigned custodial cleaning area, per District Standards
Responsible for emptying wastebaskets within the assigned custodial area and transporting trash and waste to the disposal area
Responsible for replenishing restroom supplies within the assigned custodial area
Responsible for identifying and reporting issues within the assigned custodial cleaning area that need repairs
Responsible for properly stocking the custodial closet with proper supplies
Assists with setting up and taking down tables, chairs, bleachers, etc. for school functions
Assists with shoveling snow and sanding sidewalks and steps as needed during the work shift
Assists with stripping and waxing floors
Assists with moving furniture
Ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma.
Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to managers and other employees. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance. Ability to work with necessary tools, ladders, chemicals, machines, and equipment as required, such as floor scrubbing machines and hand tools. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Observes standard safety precautions.
