Microsoft Power Platform Developer
Bridgeport, WV (onsite)
6+Month Contract
This is a Microsoft Power Platform developer not a traditional Business Intelligence analyst. The role is centered on building and supporting production business applications using Power Apps, Power Automate, and the surrounding Microsoft ecosystem (Dataverse, SharePoint, Power BI).
- The person doing this job will be building and maintaining low-code/no-code business applications, automating workflows, connecting data sources, and producing operational dashboards. They are a problem-solver embedded in business operations not a pure data analyst, not an enterprise software developer, and not a dashboard jockey.
- The business problems they solve: manual business processes that need automation, data that's scattered across SharePoint and other sources that needs to be consolidated and surfaced, and operational gaps in how business teams access and use information.
- The person who succeeds here is a hands-on Power Platform generalist who can own the full lifecycle of a business application design, build, integrate, support, and document and who is comfortable working in an enterprise utility environment where governance and reliability matter.
- Power Apps solution development - Proven experience designing, building, enhancing, and supporting Microsoft Power Apps (Canvas apps) to support business processes, including complex forms, validation logic, user driven workflows, integration with back end data sources, and ongoing application support
- Power Automate workflow automation - Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain Power Automate cloud flows to automate business processes, system integrations, notifications, and data movement, including troubleshooting failures and supporting production workflows
- Integrated data architecture using Dataverse and dataflows - Experience integrating Power Apps and Power Automate with Dataverse tables and dataflows, including data modeling, refresh management, and ensuring reliable data movement from source systems into operational applications
- Data transformation and preparation - Ability to leverage dataflows (Power Query based) to clean, transform, and standardize source data for use in Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, reducing manual processing and improving data consistency
- Power BI integration and report development - Integrate transformed Dataverse and SharePoint data into Power BI datasets and reports, creating operational and management level dashboards that align with Power App functionality, automation outputs, and business reporting needs
- SharePoint integration for application data and document management - Experience integrating Power Apps and Power Automate with SharePoint lists and document libraries, including list design, permission considerations, and automated document handling
- Application support, troubleshooting, and maintenance - Strong problem solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues across Power Apps, Power Automate, dataflows, Dataverse, and SharePoint in a production environment
- Environment and governance awareness - Familiarity with Power Platform environments, connector usage, security considerations, and governance practices appropriate for enterprise business applications
- Documentation and knowledge transfer - Ability to document solutions, workflows, and data integrations and effectively hand off to internal teams for long term maintenance and support
