Microsoft .NET / Power Platform Developer
Austin, TX | Hybrid | Must Live in the Austin or San Antonio Area | 12+ Month Contract

iSphere is looking for a Microsoft .NET / Power Platform Developer who has been around the Microsoft stack long enough to know what works, what does not, and when a “quick fix” is about to become a three-year problem.

This is a senior, hands-on development role supporting applications built across .NET, SQL Server, Angular, Blazor, and Microsoft Power Platform. The team needs someone who can help architect new solutions, build them, troubleshoot them, and work directly with business analysts and other developers without needing every technical decision handed down from somewhere else.

You will design and develop applications using ASP.NET Core, C#, Visual Studio 2022, SQL Server, Angular 18, and Blazor. You will also build Power Automate workflows and work with Dataverse, Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, and Power BI.

A big part of this role is architecture. Our client needs someone who has recently designed applications from the ground up, not someone whose architecture experience ended several projects ago. You should be comfortable making decisions around APIs, database design, UI frameworks, integrations, performance, testing, and how all the pieces fit together.

    What we need:

    • 15+ years of ASP.NET Framework experience with strong ASP.NET Core experience building RESTful APIs

    • 12+ years working with SQL Server, database design, schema design, stored procedures, SSRS, and Entity Framework

    • 12+ years of front-end development across HTML, TypeScript, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, Blazor, or React

    • 7+ years of Entity Framework Core experience

    • 5+ years of unit testing experience, including nUnit

    • 5+ years of application architecture experience, including designing projects from scratch, with strong architecture work reflected within the last 3 years

    • 3+ years working with SSIS packages, cron jobs, schedulers, and background jobs

    • 3+ years with Angular CLI, Angular Material, RxJS, and Blazor

    • 2+ years with Microsoft Power Platform, including Dataverse, Model-Driven Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI

    • Experience with Dynatrace, Windows Server troubleshooting, event logs, and application performance monitoring

You will also write and maintain Web APIs, design database schemas, build reports in Power BI, develop integration and unit tests, optimize application performance, and troubleshoot the issues that eventually find their way to the senior developer because nobody else wants to touch them.

ArcGIS experience would be a plus.

This is a hybrid position, and candidates must live in the Austin or San Antonio area.

We are looking for someone who is still genuinely hands-on after a long career in development. You should be comfortable discussing architecture in the morning, digging through SQL in the afternoon, and jumping into a Power Automate workflow when that is the better solution than writing another 2,000 lines of code.

If Microsoft development has been your world for years and you still enjoy actually building things, this one is worth a conversation.
