Overview
LABUR is partnering with a client to find a Microsoft 365 Engineer who will oversee the administration, security, governance, and optimization of the organization's Microsoft 365 environment. This role designs, implements, and supports cloud and hybrid solutions that deliver secure, scalable collaboration, messaging, identity, and productivity services across Exchange, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft Copilot. The Microsoft 365 Engineer serves as a technical subject matter expert, driving operational excellence through automation, security, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Power Platform, and Microsoft Copilot.
- Manage enterprise messaging environments including Exchange hybrid and cloud configurations, mail flow, mailbox administration, migrations, and disaster recovery.
- Administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, encompassing user lifecycle management, identity synchronization, authentication, and access governance.
- Design and maintain security controls such as Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and Zero Trust practices, along with compliance, retention, and data protection policies.
- Administer Microsoft licensing across Microsoft 365 and related cloud services, including license assignment, utilization tracking, optimization, and compliance reporting.
- Support the deployment, governance, and adoption of Microsoft Copilot solutions, Copilot Studio, agents, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and administration.
- Monitor system health, performance, and security across Microsoft platforms; serve as an escalation point for complex issues and support enterprise projects such as migrations, tenant consolidations, and platform modernization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience administering Microsoft 365 environments in an enterprise setting, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience with Active Directory, Exchange Hybrid environments, identity and access management, and PowerShell automation.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, governance, and operational best practices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and collaboration platform issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to operational issues in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation
$65-$70/hr - Dependent on fit and experience.
