PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared Microelectronics Assembler in Chelmsford, MA for a 6-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Microelectronics Assembler will build electronic components, subassemblies, and production hardware using microscopes, drawings, work instructions, measuring instruments, and specialized assembly tools. This hands-on position requires strong attention to detail, accurate production documentation, and the ability to work with components ranging from microscopic parts to larger assemblies. An interim Secret clearance is required before starting the position.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance before starting the position.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating digital systems for timekeeping, work instructions, and task confirmation.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, process instructions, and work instructions.
• Ability to perform detailed assembly work using visual magnification.
• Ability to use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools such as tweezers, rulers, and cutters.
• Ability to use pneumatic tools such as torque drivers and screwdrivers.
• Ability to maintain accurate production data and documentation.
• Ability to learn J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 requirements.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Preferred Skills

• Electrical or microelectronics assembly experience.
• Knowledge of ESD procedures.
• Experience using electronic test equipment.
• Previous J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 training or certification.
• Experience assembling electronic components and subassemblies in a production environment.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, and products according to drawings and work instructions.
• Work with microscopic and larger components using visual magnification.
• Use microscopes, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment to meet quality requirements.
• Operate hand tools and pneumatic assembly tools.
• Maintain accurate production-process data.
• Collaborate with team members to improve production throughput.
• Support continuous-improvement activities.
• Follow applicable ESD, quality, safety, and production procedures.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM.
• Full-time day shift.
• Overtime may be available.

Pay

• $24.00 per hour
