Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Scientist / Technologist in Long Island, NY

Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; OR Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training. 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing within a specialized area.

In this position, your schedule will be from 12:00am to 8:30am (nights), Monday through Friday.

This is a full-time position with eligibility for benefits.

As part of this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing essential patient care processes involving moderate and high complexity testing
• Analyzing, reviewing, and reporting testing results
• Recognizing and implementing corrective actions as necessary
• Working in a fast-paced laboratory setting with biological and chemical hazards
• Promoting safety, compliance, and quality control

Requirements for this role:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; OR Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
• 1 year of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
• NYS Laboratory Licensed.
• Proficient reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate various laboratory equipment

Bonus qualifications include:

• 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity testing within a specialized area

Compensation for this role ranges from $38.00 to $55.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and potential geographic differentials.
