Project Manager

Our client is a highly respected public works general contractor with a strong presence across New York City. Job Description

Manage all phases of public construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, and contract administration. Coordinate with public agencies including DDC, DASNY, SCA, NYCHA, and other government bodies. Lead project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors. Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project reporting. Monitor project costs, forecasting, and financial performance to ensure profitability. Ensure compliance with public sector regulations, contract requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and safety standards. Identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain project objectives. Manage field teams and provide leadership throughout the construction lifecycle. Drive successful project turnover and closeout documentation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Project Manager should have: 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within the construction industry. Proven experience managing public works projects throughout New York City. Direct experience working with agencies such as DDC, DASNY, SCA, NYCHA, MTA, or similar public entities. Strong understanding of public bidding, government procurement, and public contract administration. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred. Excellent knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, and project controls. Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a highly regulated environment. NYC construction experience and familiarity with local codes and regulations strongly preferred.
