Assistant Project Manager

Our client is a well-established commercial interiors general contractor with an outstanding reputation throughout New York City. Specializing in fast-paced retail, restaurant, hospitality, and office interior construction projects, they partner with leading brands, landlords, and corporate clients to deliver exceptional fit-outs throughout Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. Their continued growth has created an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join their team and develop a long-term career within the business.

Assist Project Managers with the successful delivery of retail, restaurant, and office interior construction projects. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Support project scheduling, procurement, and material tracking activities. Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation. Monitor project budgets, change orders, and cost reporting. Participate in site meetings and maintain project records and reports. Assist with quality control, safety compliance, and project closeout procedures. Help identify and resolve project challenges to maintain schedules and budgets. Maintain strong communication with clients, field teams, architects, and vendors.

A successful Assistant Project Manager should have: Experience delivering retail, restaurant, hospitality, or office fit-out projects. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and project documentation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software. Motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop into a Project Manager role. Experience working on projects within New York City is highly desirable.
