Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Two (2) years of experience in the installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of complex public safety radio communications including transmitters and receivers. Must be able to lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Preferences
Experience in low voltage electrical systems. Knowledge of computer-based hardware and software programming such as Avaya and Fire Station Alerting system.

This position is responsible for equipment deployment during emergency and non-emergency situations and any other task as directed by the chain of command. Responsibilities and tasks include reestablishing communication during a catastrophic event within our community through a number of means, temporary repeaters, satellite, and temporary radio systems; installing, mounting, wiring, troubleshooting, repairing a myriad of communications equipment. This position entails driving a County vehicle to report to stations and office to conduct repairs and installations as required.
This position is categorized as critical and entails working outside the parameters of the normal work schedule during times of significant or large-scale events, hurricanes and other emergency activations.
