    Be the therapeutic presence patients remember. As an MHT, you create a calm, structured milieu where healing can take root —providing a calm, vigilant presence while others rest.

    How You Will Make a Difference
    • Perform regular patient safety checks (such as every 15 minutes or as ordered).
    • Maintain continuous observation of patients on suicide, self-harm, elopement, or behavioral precautions.
    • Monitor patients for changes in behavior, mood, or medical condition and immediately report concerns to the nurse.
    • Document patient observations, behaviors, and overnight events accurately in the medical record.
    • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and mobility as needed.
    • Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment by conducting room and unit safety inspections.
    • Respond appropriately to behavioral crises using approved verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
    • Assist nursing staff during emergencies, patient interventions, admissions, and discharges.
    • Escort patients within the facility for medical appointments, assessments, or unit activities when necessary.
    • Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, or other clinical measurements as assigned.
    • Manage after‑hours admissions and urgent needs; prepare a thorough handoff to the day team.
    What We’re Looking For
    • High school diploma/GED required; some college or STNA/EMT experience preferred.
    • Age 21+; ability to stand/walk for long periods and assist with lifts/transfers as needed.
    • Empathy, consistency, and clear communication.
