About the Role

The Material Handler is responsible for safely operating forklifts, including sit-down and reach forklifts, to move, locate, and organize materials within a warehouse environment. This role involves retrieving items from high storage areas using cherry pickers and assisting with loading, unloading, and inventory management to support efficient warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts, reach forklifts, and cherry pickers to manage and move inventory within the warehouse.
• Safely lift and handle materials weighing 20 lbs or more following safety procedures.
• Retrieve items from elevated storage locations using cherry pickers.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials and supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and documentation during handling.
• Follow safety regulations and company policies for forklift operations.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Properly stack, store, and organize warehouse materials.
• Keep work areas clean and organized to promote safety and efficiency.
• Support general warehouse duties as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Required Qualifications

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts, reach forklifts, and cherry pickers.
• Ability to lift and handle materials of 20 lbs or more.
• Knowledge of forklift safety procedures.
• Certification or proficiency in forklift operation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional warehouse experience.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Operating forklifts throughout the shift.
