    Description

    Manage information technology (IT) related activities, specifically for Identity Access Management (IAM) personnel, platforms, and processes. Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees. Assimilate management, staff member, and customer requirements, utilize standard information services (IS) methodologies, and gather information from various sources when supervising staff. Manage access and design identity solutions for customers and projects with defined scope, leveraging knowledge of Entra ID, Active Directory, IAM architecture, identity governance, workflow design, identity automation, privileged access management (PAM), and API integrations. Comply with all relevant policies and procedures related to the use, disclosure, and security of information and organizational information systems. Utilize knowledge of account provisioning, modification, de-provisioning, privileged access controls, and automated identity lifecycle processes for Academic Health Center (AHC) personnel. Apply established policies and procedural frameworks with considerable discretion while supporting secure, scalable, and compliant identity services. Access information considered confidential and protected by the organization to implement and maintain systems and appropriate user access. Self-directed; work within a general framework established by management.

    Classification Minimum Requirements:

    Master's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

    Job Description:

    SUPERVISION & STAFF MANAGEMENT

    Supervise IAM staff in course of daily business.  Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.  Plan and coordinate project schedules and related activities.  Participate in planning and administering department and project budgets.  Resolve complex problems escalated by staff members.  Resolve escalated problems referred by subordinate supervisors or staff members.

    ANALYSIS

    Identify, evaluate, support, and solve complex issues related to area of expertise.  Resolve escalated problems referred by subordinate supervisors or staff members.  Develop a complete understanding of customer business processes and system needs.  Understand how system contributes to department’s process workflow.  Identify and develop mitigations for potential system impacts across multiple systems.  Identify business process impacts across departments.  Participate in analyzing of current IS processes and standards.

    MAINTENANCE & SUPPORT

    Prepare long- and short-range plans for IAM strategy, including applications selection, systems development, systems maintenance, production activities, and necessary support resources.  Maintain IAM day-to-day processes and systems with minimal adverse impact to customers and IS.  Resolve issues timely and thoroughly.  Coordinate with, and communicate to primary stakeholders.  Determine root causes of issues and follows up on all matters.  Seek, recommend, and implement opportunities for support process improvements.  Guide customers to develop change control processes.  Recommend opportunities for process improvement.

    TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE

    Supervise and provide highly complex technical design, implementation, maintenance, and system administration for IAM and in support of IT technical and applications teams.  Apply technical skills needed to supervise staff assignments effectively.  Remain proficient with tools and maintains knowledge of newest features.  Utilize breadth of technical experience results in solutions to complex problems.  Identify potential data discrepancies and their impact; recommend modifications.

    PROJECT & TASK MANAGEMENT

    Participate in departmental and enterprise project planning.
    Plan and coordinate project schedules and related activities involving IAM staff members.  Plan, execute, and monitor projects and/or tasks according to IS standards and management expectations.  Apply advanced project management concepts and established procedures across multiple departments.  Build, monitor, and adjust the plan with minimal assistance.  Anticipate, understand, and act to mitigate potential impacts to projects.  Prioritize tasks according to departmental and strategic objectives

    Required Qualifications:

    Preferred:

    Advanced knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory, including identity lifecycle management, authentication, authorization, and hybrid identity architectures.
    Strong understanding of IAM architecture principles, including the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and compliant identity solutions across complex enterprise environments.
    Experience with workflow design and identity automation to streamline provisioning, deprovisioning, access requests, approvals, and governance processes.
    Knowledge of Privileged Access Management (PAM) integrations and privileged access engineering.
    Strong understanding of identity governance concepts, including access certifications, separation of duties, role-based access controls, policy enforcement, and compliance requirements.
    Experience integrating identity platforms with enterprise applications through API integrations, web services, and modern authentication protocols.
    Knowledge of healthcare-specific access management requirements.
    Ability to evaluate, design, and support integrated identity ecosystems that leverage Entra ID, Active Directory, PAM solutions, and other enterprise technologies to enable secure and efficient access management.
