Our team partners with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and quality functions to deliver reliable dimensional data, strengthen technical decision-making, and continuously improve measurement capabilities and laboratory performance.

    What You Will Do

    • Lead daily metrology laboratory operations by establishing priorities, allocating resources, managing capacity, and aligning work with customer and business needs.
    • Supervise and provide technical guidance to Metrology Engineers and Technicians while developing team capability through coaching and training.
    • Lead dimensional measurement strategies and review inspection results using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Computed Tomography (CT) scanning, optical measurement systems, vision equipment, and other metrology technologies.
    • Partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) teams to solve complex dimensional challenges involving Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), datum alignment, tolerance assessment, and measurement strategy.
    • Maintain measurement-system integrity by ensuring laboratory standards and procedures are followed and coordinating calibration, preventive maintenance, equipment qualification, and measurement-system activities.
    • Drive laboratory performance by monitoring capacity, backlog, turnaround time, equipment utilization, inspection throughput, and quality metrics and proactively addressing constraints that could affect customer commitments.
    • Advance metrology capabilities through continuous improvement, automation, standardization, digital reporting, and implementation of technologies such as ZEISS Calypso, Volume Graphics metrology and CT analysis tools.

    Key Leadership Responsibilities

    • Set laboratory priorities and align resources with customer and business needs.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop metrology personnel to strengthen technical capability.
    • Identify and proactively escalate capacity, quality, and delivery risks.
    • Establish clear expectations and drive accountability, standardization, and continuous improvement across laboratory operations.
    • Serve as the primary technical and operational point of contact for metrology activities.

    Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • 5+ years of experience in dimensional metrology, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.
    • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams, projects, or laboratory operations.
    • Experience interpreting GD&T and engineering drawings and applying dimensional inspection methods and tolerance analysis.
    • Experience with CMM programming and operation and measurement-system practices such as calibration, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gauge R&R, or measurement traceability.

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Experience with ZEISS Calypso, Volume Graphics (VG Metrology), CT analysis software, or similar metrology platforms.
    • Experience with CT scanning, optical inspection, vision systems, or 3D scanning technologies.
    • Knowledge of Model-Based Definition (MBD), Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), and digital inspection workflows.
    • Experience supporting automotive, connector, medical device, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or comparable process-improvement experience.
    • Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
