    Metrology and CMM Inspection Specialist

    Imagine this: A production run completes, and a critical customer deadline is on the horizon. You step in, translate complex drawings and GD&T into a metrology plan, confirm key features on the bench with calipers, micrometers, height gages, and dial indicators, then validate form and location on the CMM. You capture results, isolate a nonconformance, and work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with engineering and production to drive a corrective action—keeping quality, schedule, and customer trust intact.

    Role Purpose

    Guard the dimensional integrity of precision‑machined components from first article through shipment while upholding ISO 9001 standards.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Execute first article, in‑process, and final inspections
    • Operate a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to verify critical dimensions and specifications (experience with Mitutoyo or CMM‑Manager is advantageous)
    • Apply blueprint reading skills, GD&T, and welding symbol knowledge to inspection activities
    • Perform gauge calibration and maintain inspection assets
    • Conduct ISO quality audits; support the quality management system
    • Document results, manage nonconforming material, and prepare quality reports
    • Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
    • Collaborate closely with production and engineering on quality resolutions

    What You’ll Need

    • Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience in manufacturing
    • Hands‑on proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, and similar)
    • Fluency in reading blueprints and applying GD&T
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
    • CMM operation experience; familiarity with Mitutoyo or CMM‑Manager preferred
    • Basic weld inspection and understanding of welding symbols
    • Exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
    • High school diploma or equivalent
