    Metrologist (Confidential)Location: Greater Milwaukee AreaAbout the OpportunityIf you are a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting instrumentation, solving equipment challenges, and working in an environment where precision matters, this could be an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a Metrologist to support calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities within a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory environment.In this role, you will work closely with equipment users, engineers, technicians, and other cross-functional partners to ensure critical process instrumentation remains accurate, reliable, and compliant. You will perform both scheduled and unscheduled calibration and maintenance activities while helping the team respond to equipment needs as they arise.This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong technical aptitude with attention to detail and enjoys a role that gets them out from behind a desk. Your work will directly support equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and the day-to-day success of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesCalibration & Instrumentation
    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of process instrumentation.
    • Inspect, disassemble, repair, and reassemble instruments and equipment using appropriate hand tools, test equipment, and precision instruments.
    • Troubleshoot instrumentation and component performance and make adjustments or repairs to meet required specifications.
    • Support the calibration and tracking of metrology standards and instrumentation serviced by third-party providers.
    Maintenance & Technical Support
    • Partner closely with equipment users, engineers, and technicians to troubleshoot issues and complete required calibration and maintenance activities.
    • Respond to on-demand assignments and equipment needs while balancing scheduled monthly work.
    • Identify required components, replacement parts, tools, and supplies needed to complete work.
    • Prepare technical documentation and recommendations to help resolve instrumentation and equipment issues.
    Documentation & Compliance
    • Accurately document calibration activities and results within the calibration management system.
    • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and established processes related to out-of-tolerance conditions and deviations.
    • Complete documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
    • Perform work in compliance with cGMP requirements, established safety practices, and applicable training requirements.
    • Complete appropriate work permits and safety evaluations before performing applicable maintenance activities.
    Systems & Continuous Support
    • Utilize computerized calibration and facility systems to document work, monitor equipment, and support maintenance activities.
    • Help plan, schedule, and prioritize calibration work to ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time.
    • Contribute to a collaborative technical environment focused on equipment reliability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED required; technical education or training in instrumentation, electronics, metrology, maintenance, or a related discipline is a plus
    • 2+ years of related experience within a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment
    • Experience with calibration, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, or repair of process instrumentation
    • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, components, instrumentation, and/or laboratory equipment
    • Ability to read and follow technical procedures, SOPs, and work instructions
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate technical documentation
    • Comfortable learning and working within computerized maintenance, calibration, and facility systems
    • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, equipment users, and other cross-functional partners
    Additional Details
    • Up to 5% travel may be required
