SummaryThe Meter Technician I performs essential maintenance on water meters and service lines, addressing exchanges, repairs, leaks, cutoffs, and relocations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts water meter maintenance, including meter exchanges, repairs, leak remediation, service line cutoff repair/replacement, and meter relocationsProvides support to the Metering Department encompassing water meter reading, miscellaneous work order fulfillment, re-reads, and water service Disconnection/ReconnectionFollows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalentDemonstrated experience in plumbing or similar technical roles requiring work with water systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with water meter operation and maintenance
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Valid driver's licenseTCEQ License Class D Water or the ability to obtain within six months
