    Metal Shop Manager

    Location: Mentor, OH, 44060

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Accomplishing department objectives by supervising staff and organizing work processes
    • Implementing and enforcing systems, procedures, and policies
    • Monitoring employee productivity by providing useful feedback and training
    • Setting performance goals that comply with the organization’s plans and visions
    • Ensuring compliance with legal and company policies and procedures
    • Relaying information from upper management to employees and vice versa
    • Handling customer issues that might escalate and require a supervisor for management

    • Machinery, tools and blueprint reading experience
    • Possesses working knowledge of woodworking and manufacturing
    • Must correctly perform all aspects of routine work, meeting quality standards and requirements
    • Must be able to achieve results in an accurate and timely manner
    • Maintain awareness of shipping schedules and adjust work capacity needs as required
    • Keep work areas clean and safe
    • Communicate effectively with co-workers, managers and others
    • Must be willing to share knowledge and ideas
    • Perform activities that directly support team outcomes
    • Flexible in cross-training
    • Perform duties based on instructions/past practices
    • Respond positively to direction in order to provide assistance to others
    • Will require follow-up in new areas
