Job Title: Engineering - MES Application Technician

Location: New Brighton, MN

Contract duration : 6 Months (Extendable)

Pay rate : $21.12/hr on W2

Job Description:

We are seeking a MES Application Technician to help create, deploy, and maintain manufacturing applications using the Tulip MES platform. This role works closely with operators, engineers, and IT to digitize shop‐floor processes such as work instructions, quality checks, traceability, and production data collection.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‐on manufacturing or technical professional who enjoys problem‐solving, learning new digital tools, and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Application Development & Support
  • Build and update Tulip applications for shop‐floor use
  • Configure screens, variables, triggers, and tables
  • Test applications with operators and support deployment to production
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic app and data issues

Manufacturing Process Support

  • Translate manufacturing processes into simple, effective digital workflows
  • Support applications for:
  • Work instructions
  • Quality checks and defect logging
  • Traceability and data capture
  • Observe operations to identify improvement opportunities

Data & Systems Integration

  • Assist with data exchange between Tulip and other systems (ERP, databases, devices)
  • Support barcode scanners, tablets, and other shop‐floor hardware
  • Validate data accuracy and completeness Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Create basic documentation for applications and changes
  • Support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives
  • Participate in testing, feedback, and iterative improvement cycles

Required Qualifications

  • Technical & Manufacturing Skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in:
  • Manufacturing operations
  • Production support
  • Technical systems, automation, or IT support in a factory environment
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (assembly, inspection, production flow)
  • Strong logical thinking and problem‐solving skills
  • Comfort working with computers, tablets, and software tools

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical certificate, associate degree, or equivalent hands‐on experience strongly preferred, such as:
  • Manufacturing or Engineering Technology
  • Industrial or Mechanical Technology
  • Mechatronics or Automation
  • Information Technology
  • Digital Manufacturing or similar trade/technical programs
  • Relevant shop‐floor and technical experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Preferred (Nice‐to‐Have) Qualifications

  • Exposure to Tulip, MES, or other low‐code platforms (PowerApps, Ignition, Mendix, etc.)
  • Basic programming or scripting experience (C++, JavaScript, Jason, Python, SQL, VBA)
  • Familiarity with:
  • REST APIs or data integration
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
