Summary:- Responsible for merchandising and buying of product line.
- Develops an assortment plan, including price point and space allocation for a product.
- Ensures the product development follows the line plan and production calendar. Collaborates with manufacturing on vendors, calendar and costing strategies.
- May participant in plans for ad campaigns and merchandise presentations.
- Participates in the patterning process.
- Tracks competitive intelligence process and performs assessments of fashion trends.
- May partner with other functions to manage inventory.
- Trcks and reviews sales to provide analysis for increased sales opportunities, improve margins, manage inventories and decrease markdowns.
- Works fairly independently and handles issues of complexity.
- Typically reports to Merchandising Manager.
- Typically no direct reports.
- May be assigned an Assistant Buyer.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- May have advanced degree. 5-7 years of merchandising experience.
