POSITION SUMMARY
The Merchandising Manager owns an assigned geographic area — developing it, growing it, and making sure every MSCO merchandising program inside it is executed as planned. This is a working management role: the Merchandising Manager leads the crew on-site and executes alongside them, keeping each set on schedule and on spec and owning the photo and written recap that closes out each store.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
This position is responsible for the assigned geographic area, including the development, growth, management, and execution of all merchandising business for Merchandising Services Co. In a convenience store setting, responsibilities may include: - Owning the development, growth, management, and execution of all MSCO merchandising business in the assigned area
- Leading crews on-site and keeping each set on schedule and on spec
- Owning the photo and written recap that closes out each store
- Executing plan-o-grams on existing in-store product alongside the team
- Tagging shelves so pricing and product line up with the plan
- Moving and rearranging product across shelves, bins, coolers, and any other areas of the store the set calls for
- Recruiting, training, and developing merchandisers as the business unit grows
REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & EQUIPMENT - Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Real ID–verified driver’s license or passport for air travel. Additionally, must have reliable transportation and provide proof of auto insurance
- Required to possess and safely operate an insured personal vehicle suitable and appropriate for the job — a truck, van, SUV, or car capable of pulling your own trailer with a hitch
- High school diploma/GED required; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
- Prefer 3 or more years of Beverage (CSD/Beer) industry background, including resets and merchandising of beverage coolers and center store products — however, we will train the right candidates
- Prior management and/or recruiting experience desired
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
- Required to possess a smartphone device capable of submitting payroll and reports
- Must possess a PC or laptop
- Must be able to travel frequently within the assigned business unit or other MSCO territories as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS - On your feet for long stretches, with frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and standing
- Lifting and carrying light to moderate product and fixture components throughout a shift
- Working inside cold vaults, walk-in coolers, and other refrigerated areas
- Overnight travel, including occasional weekend stays and out-of-state projects
- Daytime schedules that may extend based on program requirements and store conditions
