Overview:

The Merchandising Assistant provides advanced support to our Beauty Buying department located in Valley Stream, NY.

Responsibilities:

• Serves to facilitate any general administrative related issues for both the Beauty departments.
• Develops and maintains the required Excel based reports (ex: inventory, allocations, transfer orders, etc.)
• Full ownership and discretion of independent judgment with respect to all data entry responsibilities as they pertain to purchase orders, price changes and daily sales information.
• Cross referencing invoices to POs as they are received.
• Exercises independent initiative to ask questions and effect changes.
• Communicate effectively and professionally as needed with vendors (ex: tester requests, pricing/availability reports)
• Responsible for SKU creation & maintenance, with direction from buyers, to include updating product description, cost and retail pricing.
• Executes special projects and performs other department related functions as required or directed.
• Assists Buying teams with store openings.

Experience and Education:

• Minimum of 1 year supporting a department or a team within administrative/clerical role required.
• Previous internships within a Buying Department preferred.
• Bachelor Degree in Merchandising/Marketing/Buying/Planning or Equivalent Business experience a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Power Point and Excel
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
