MEP Estimator in Colchester CT:
- Responsibilities:
- Generate cost estimates for MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) in construction projects
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
- Identify labor, material, and time requirements, and compute costs by analyzing these requirements
- Maintain contact and relationships with private individuals and other organizations, and resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Communicate estimate and scopes of work to the staff, architects, engineers, and owners
- Perform constructability analysis of project documents
- Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a plus.
- Ideally two - five years related MEP estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Experience with electrical estimating services is a plus
