MEP Construction Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage project buy-out processes, including creating bid packages, collaborating with procurement to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), responsible for creating and managing contracts and Scopes of Work, contract adherence, and Change Orders. Proficiency in project management software, design tools, and other analytical/design tools such as MS Project/Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Excel, document control systems, and model viewing software.

JOB TITLE: MEP Construction Project Manager
LOCATION: Austin, TX
DURATION: 6+ Month Contract to Hire
PAY RANGE: $60 - $70/hr.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As an MEP Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing electrical construction projects from start to finish. You will collaborate closely with the Design team, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project completion on time, within budget, and according to Specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to communicate effectively will be crucial as you coordinate and facilitate various aspects of the construction process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage project buy-out processes, including creating bid packages, collaborating with procurement to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs), responsible for creating and managing contracts and Scopes of Work, contract adherence, and Change Orders.
• Oversee and direct critical electrical infrastructure construction projects to ensure completion according to drawings and specifications, delivered on schedule, and within budget while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, local authorities, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with project superintendents to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
• Collaborate with the design team, architects, and engineers; review plans, specifications, and drawings; expedite resolutions to design conflicts while coordinating the best path forward.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reporting.
• Ensure all electrical installations and systems meet or exceed quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices; supervise inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems; manage commissioning processes, including system testing, outage coordination, troubleshooting, and final client handover; deliver comprehensive documentation such as as-built drawings, training materials, and operation manuals.
• Track site execution and inspections to ensure work is performed according to safety guidelines and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience managing construction projects in large manufacturing or industrial environments, specifically involving electrical, mechanical, and network systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning for mission-critical environments, including power distribution, backup power systems (UPS), substations, and lighting.
• Proficiency in project management software, design tools, and other analytical/design tools such as MS Project/Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Excel, document control systems, and model viewing software.
• Minimum: OSHA 10; OSHA 30 preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA) and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of overcoming challenges on complex projects.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
