Project Manager – Design-Build MEP & Building Infrastructure

Lead Complex MEP, Mechanical & Building Infrastructure Projects

Location: Denver, CO

\n

Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Flexible — work remotely when not attending office meetings or project site visits

\n

Travel: Local project site visits, generally a few times per month

\n

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex design-build mechanical, MEP, energy, and building infrastructure projects throughout the Denver area.

\n


\n

This is not traditional ground-up commercial construction. Projects focus on improving and modernizing existing commercial and institutional facilities through complex HVAC, mechanical, utility, controls, energy-efficiency, and infrastructure upgrades.

The Projects: Projects typically range from $2M–$10M+ and focus on complex improvements to existing commercial and institutional facilities.

  • HVAC and mechanical system retrofits and modernization
  • \n
  • Chiller and boiler upgrades
  • \n
  • Hydronic and building utility systems
  • \n
  • Central utility and infrastructure improvements
  • \n
  • Building automation, controls, and smart building systems
  • \n
  • Energy-efficiency and building performance upgrades
  • \n
  • Water system improvements
  • \n
  • LED lighting and electrical energy upgrades
  • \n
  • Renewable energy and decarbonization projects
  • \n
  • CHP/cogeneration systems
  • \n
  • Capital improvement projects
  • \n
  • Phased work within occupied or operational facilities

What You'll Do

\n
  • \n
  • Manage design-build projects from preconstruction and estimating through completion
  • \n
  • Develop conceptual estimates, budgets, schedules, and execution plans
  • \n
  • Coordinate closely with in-house engineers and designers
  • \n
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, clients, and project stakeholders
  • \n
  • Oversee project financial performance, scheduling, procurement, and documentation
  • \n
  • Manage change orders and identify project risks proactively
  • \n
  • Coordinate work within existing and occupied facilities
  • \n
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
  • \n
  • Support startup, commissioning, and final project closeout
  • \n
  • Drive projects from kickoff through successful completion
  • \n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n
  • \n
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction, MEP, mechanical, HVAC, or design-build environments
  • \n
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through completion
  • \n
  • Experience managing projects in the $2M–$10M+ range
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of construction budgets, schedules, contracts, and subcontractor management
  • \n
  • Some preconstruction/estimating experience
  • \n
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • \n
  • Self-driven and comfortable working independently in a highly autonomous environment
  • \n
  • Comfortable coordinating technically complex construction projects
  • \n
  • Must be able to travel locally to project sites as needed
  • \n
  • Must live within approximately 1 hour of Denver
  • \n
