We are seeking a mentor for novice teachers in the following subject areas and locations:

  1. Teacher of English JTHS (Traditional Route, 30 weeks)

  2. Teacher of Health & Physical Education JTHS (Traditional Route, 30 weeks)

  3. Teacher of Math JTIS (Alternate Route, 10 weeks)

  4. Teacher of Special Education* JTIS (Traditional Route, 30 weeks)

Requirements:Must be a certified staff member and, when possible, be certified in the subject area in which the novice provisional teacher is working.

Must have three (3) years of teaching experience and must have worked 2 out of the last 5 years.

Must have received a summative rating of effective or highly effective on the most recent summative evaluation.Salary:Traditional Route: $550 for 30 weeks or mentoring, pro-rated at $18.34 per week

Alternate Route: $1000 for 30 weeks of mentoring; pro-rated at $33.34 per weekTo Apply:To apply, contact the building principal where the novice is employed.

Preference will be given to staff members who teach in the same building as the novice.

RESIDENCY LAW: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (P.L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the "New Jersey First Act", effective September 1, 2011, all newly hired public employees, including public school district employees must reside in the State of New Jersey, unless exempted under the law. If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date of hire to relocate your residence to New Jersey. If you do not do so, you are subject to removal from your position in NEW JERSEY
