We're Hiring!

We are seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our team at Our Place, an 18-bed Community-Based Residential Facility serving adults with mental health and/or emotional issues who are experiencing difficulty caring for themselves in an independent living environment. This full-time position is responsible for aiding the residents in meeting their goals on their Individual Service Plan. A Mental Health Technician provides emotional support to each resident. Shifts are 2:00PM – 10:00PM. Full-time staff are also required to be part of a rotating on-call schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity of care for residents.
  • Follow Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and provide the necessary and indicated services per resident.
  • Maintain a positive supportive relationship with residents.
  • Effectively and consistently implement house rules, policies, and schedules.
  • Maintain log of emergency hospital use, doctor appointments, and prescriptions received.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: High school diploma/GED

Experience:

  • Required: None
  • Preferred: CBRF training and experience working with chronically mentally ill individuals.

Skills and Competencies:

  • A valid Wisconsin Driver's License with acceptable driving record is required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population in ways that are accepting, culturally competent, non-judgmental, supportive, and empowering.
  • Respect for individuals of diverse socio-economic status, race, and ethnicity.
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule with the ability to be on-call as needed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Training

The Mental Health Technician must have or successfully complete and maintain certification for medication administration, CPR and First Aid, and CBRF Fire Safety within the allotted timeframe set by the state codes.
