    Description

National Mental Health Corps (NMHC) AmeriCorps Volunteers serve alongside community organizations to expand access to mental health education, prevention, and support services. At Bridges of Hope, members support grief-informed mental health programming for children, youth, and families impacted by grief, trauma, and loss. Volunteers assist with grief support services, school-based and community programming, psychoeducational activities, and outreach efforts that promote coping skills, emotional wellness, and resilience. Members help coordinate support groups and events, distribute grief and mental health resources, and connect families with community services. Depending on organizational needs, volunteers may also support Mental Health First Aid and QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training initiatives. Through service and community engagement, members help increase access to free, compassionate mental health and grief support for underserved youth and families.
