    Mental Health Clinician

    Division/Program:

    (Adult Inpatient) Crisis Residential Unit

    Starting Compensation:

    70000 - 80000 USD Per Year

    Working Location:

    Merced, CA

    Working Hours/Shift:

    Available to work 4 hours per day beginning after 5:00 PM, five days per week, including evening and weekend shifts. Flexible scheduling available.

    Benefits & Commuter Stipend

    This position is eligible for commuter benefits. Employees who commute over 20 miles one-way may receive a monthly stipend:

    • $200/month for full-time staff
    • $100/month for part-time staff

    What You Bring to SBHG

    • Education: Master's degree in social work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution (required).

    • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of direct service experience in a mental health setting (student internship/practicum time accepted).

    • Direct experience in an inpatient therapy setting (preferred).

    • Licensure Options:

    • Mental Health Specialist II: Active registration as an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC (required).

    • Mental Health Specialist III: Active independent license as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC (required).

    How you will make a difference:

    Conducts psychosocial assessments and maintains client documentation, including intake, progress, and discharge notes. Assesses clients' readiness for admission and discharge, coordinates care with treatment teams and case managers, provides individual and group therapy, facilitates therapeutic groups, and connects clients with appropriate community and aftercare resources.

    Division/Program Overview:

    • Population Served: Serving adults, ages 18-59
    • Facility & Setting: 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, 16-bed facility
    • Clinical Services: Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
    • Length of Stay: 30 day stay
    • Skills & Services: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling and medication evaluation and support services.
