Memory Care Director

Reports To: Executive Director

Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Memory Care Director to lead our Memory Care program and ensure a person-centered approach to resident care. This leadership role is responsible for programming, team development, resident engagement, family partnerships, regulatory compliance, and overall program excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Programming
- Lead and oversee a comprehensive Memory Care program focused on resident well-being and engagement.
- Design, schedule, and facilitate meaningful activities that meet residents' interests and abilities.
- Collaborate with Life Enrichment, Wellness, and Dining teams to support individualized resident needs.
- Participate in resident assessments, care planning, family conferences, and move-in preparation.
- Monitor changes in resident condition and coordinate appropriate responses.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and home-like environment for residents.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and supervise Memory Care team members.
- Provide ongoing dementia care education and training for staff.
- Ensure team members deliver exceptional care, engagement, and service.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with residents' families and serve as a key resource and advocate.
- Plan and facilitate family support group meetings.
- Maintain partnerships with Alzheimer's Association chapters and other dementia-care organizations.
Compliance & Financial Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Assist with annual budgeting and manage departmental labor and operating expenses.
- Review financial performance and develop action plans to address budget variances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of dementia care management experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience required, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and team leadership.
- Knowledge of dementia care best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Passion for serving older adults and enhancing quality of life.
