Job Summary
The Member Services representative ensures member satisfaction by visiting guests at the Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center. Candidates will give personalized attention to members through service, conversation, and professionalism. Member Services Representatives will use conversation to help members achieve goals and feel comfortable using the facility.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00AM - 12:00PM
Essential Functions of the Role
- Position requires opening the gym Monday - Friday
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution techniques. Follow established policies and procedures to resolve member complaints and address concerns. The work schedule varies and includes evening and weekend shifts.
- Attend scheduled meetings and training workshops.
- Promote internal and external Fitness Center programs.
- Maintain a professional appearance through good personal hygiene, grooming and established dress code.
- Anticipate and fulfill members'' needs related to the fitness floor.
- Distribute and organize water, towels, magazines/newspapers.
- Monitor and instruct members on the safe and effective usage of cardiovascular and durability training equipment and other fitness areas.
- Assist with equipment cleanliness and maintenance.
Key Success Factors
- High school diploma required; at least one year of college or trade school preferred.
- 0-3 months of customer service experience is required.
- Must possess a working knowledge of free weight, weight machines and cardio equipment.
- Must be fluent in English, bilingual a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy are required.
- Proven ability to mediate in difficult and conflicting situations.
- Must be able to perform basic functions on a computer.
- Current CPR/AED certifications (may be provided through Baylor Tom Landry Fitness Center).
- Work requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
