Member of Technical Staff

Location: New York City
Company Stage of Funding: Series B AI Healthcare Infrastructure Startup
Office Type: On-site (5 days/week)
Salary: $200K–$270K + Equity

Company Description

We’re representing a fast-growing AI healthcare infrastructure startup transforming clinical administration through intelligent automation. Backed by top-tier investors including Sequoia, NEA, and leading AI founders and operators, the company is building an AI-powered platform that simplifies healthcare workflows and enables clinicians to focus more on patient care.

The company is entering a major scale-up phase following significant enterprise customer growth and recent funding. Their engineering organization is still small and highly technical, creating an opportunity for engineers to own systems end-to-end while shaping the architecture and reliability of a rapidly growing platform.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power AI-driven healthcare workflows
  • Work across the stack when needed, contributing to infrastructure, backend systems, and frontend applications
  • Build and improve LLM-powered systems, including evaluations, monitoring, and reliability tooling
  • Analyze production logs, debug distributed systems and event streams, and improve platform reliability and scalability
  • Develop internal tooling and automation systems that increase operational leverage across the engineering organization
  • Work directly with enterprise customers to understand workflows, scope integrations, and translate operational requirements into technical solutions
  • Contribute to SDKs, developer tooling, documentation, and platform architecture decisions
  • Own systems from initial design through deployment and production operations

Ideal Background

  • 1–7 years of professional software engineering experience with strong engineering fundamentals
  • Experience working at companies known for strong engineering culture and technical rigor
  • Background in one of the following areas: infrastructure/SRE, backend platform engineering, data engineering, or full-stack engineering with a backend lean
  • Experience building production APIs, distributed systems, or data pipelines
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and scalable system architecture
  • Demonstrated ownership of systems end-to-end, from design through production support
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Interest in solving operationally complex, high-scale infrastructure problems

Preferred

  • Experience with Python, Go, TypeScript, React, or similar modern engineering stacks
  • Experience building or evaluating LLM-powered systems and AI infrastructure
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, event sourcing, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture
  • Customer-facing engineering experience such as forward deployed engineering or technical implementation work
  • Public GitHub projects, open-source contributions, or technical portfolio demonstrating engineering depth
  • Experience in fast-moving startups or high-performance engineering organizations

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $200K–$270K
  • Competitive equity package included
  • Visa sponsorship available
  • Opportunity to work directly with enterprise customers on production AI infrastructure
  • Highly collaborative engineering culture with strong ownership and fast iteration cycles
  • Significant influence over platform architecture and system design during rapid company growth
  • Exposure to cutting-edge AI, distributed systems, and healthcare infrastructure problems

Salary Range: $200,000-$270,000 base.
